Nifty ideas you can use to build a better business

Green Teens

Small businesses that sell to the teenage market should target “green teens,” youngsters between the ages of 13 and 17 who have an appreciation for the environment. That’s the finding from a recent JupiterResearch report. The report found that 38 percent of all online teens admit concern for the environment. Because these green teens are popular, influential and engaged with online media, this group represents a prime target. “Green teens are . . . opinion leaders,” explains David Card, vice president and at JupiterResearch. “This group likes to be the first to learn about something new; they have the potential to become a powerful tool in the online marketing arsenal.”

Save Your Cash

Every little bit helps when it comes to improving small-business cash flow. So the next time you make a purchase, use your business credit card. Putting expenses on a card lets you defer payment, at least for up to 30 days. That leaves more cash in your till. Just be sure to pay off your credit cards each month so you don’t incur interest charges.
