Ads Via Video

You may soon be advertising your business in a new venue -- videos. Video monitors are now showing up in elevators. They feature news, weather and advertising, all playing to a captive audience. Major banking chains are beginning to run video advertising on their ATMs. The ads, which run about seven seconds, generally promote a bank's services and products while you wait for your cash. This could be a new wave of advertising as businesses look for venues that can deliver more punch than traditional placements such as radio, television, the Web and print publications.

Trade Show Techniques

If you're ramping up for your next trade show exhibit, take these tips with you. Put your marketing materials on podiums or tables at the back of the booth. That way, attendees walking through your display area will have an incentive to look over all of your offerings. Don't place any chairs in your booth. Stay on your feet while you're tending the booth. Which leads to the next tip -- arrange for more trade show personnel than you anticipate needing. Work in shifts of about two hours. Remember, this is show time. Everyone needs to work hard, rest hard and work hard some more.
