Nifty ideas you can use to build a better business

Personalized Postcards

Boost the response rate to your postcard marketing by personalizing the cards you send. Design your postcards to look like a friendly message rather than an ad. Use a greeting line. Create a signature line in a script typeface. And apply a 23-cent stamp instead of an imprinted indicia that people associate with junk mail. Attention to these details will generate more responses. And that’s the goal of postcard marketing.

Meeting Turn Offs

The next time you conduct a business meeting, try these tactics to increase attention and participation. Ask everyone attending to turn off their cell phones, pagers, PDAs and laptop computers. Without the gadgets going, people will focus on the topic instead of their personal business. Also post a do not disturb sign on the door. That will prevent a parade of people coming into the room. Finally, request that everyone stay for the entire meeting. That helps avoid the disruption of people leaving the room while your meeting is in progress.
