Don’t Phone Home

Last year the Federal Communications Commission proposed lifting its ban on the use of cell phones during U.S. air flights. But don’t get too hopeful about dialing at 30,000 feet. A recent poll shows that air travelers think cell phone chatter will just compound in-flight problems and complaints. In the poll, conducted on behalf of the National Consumer League and a flight attendants’ association, 69 percent of those surveyed said that they wanted to keep cell phone restrictions in place on planes.
