Nifty ideas you can use to build a better business

Retiring Employees

As the number of workers nearing retirement grows, big companies are bracing for their departure. That’s the finding of a recent survey by Robert Half International Inc, one of the world’s largest specialized staffing agencies. A majority of the survey respondents said that their companies are concerned about losing staff to retirement in the next five to 10 years. And 78 percent said that their firms were taking steps to prepare for the loss of baby-boom-age employees.

No Vacancy

Business travelers are on the road again – big time. Indeed, the lodging industry may score its best year since Sept. 11, 2001. That’s good news for hotels, which have seen room rates rise about 7 percent. But if you’re a business traveler, be ready to pay more. And be ready to scramble for hard to find last-minute rooms during the workweek. Best advice? Book early for popular destinations. And earmark more money for your business travel budget.
