Nifty ideas you can use to build a better business

Cash Flow Tip

If your cash flow is in a crunch, try making a budget that shows incoming cash and outgoing cash. List the specific dates when your payables are due. Also list specific due dates for your accounts receivable. Now compare the lists. You should get a bird’s eye view of your cash flow and be able to better plan your expenditures.

Martha Stewart As Entrepreneur

Fans of Martha Stewart are counting the days. Stewart, the creator and founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, will author “Martha’s Rules,” a business handbook which will outline how to identify one’s own entrepreneurial voice and channel one’s skills and passions into a successful business venture. The book will be published by Rodale in October 2005. “My goal with this book is to help people turn their passions into successful businesses,” said Stewart. “While the advice I impart in the book was developed through my own experiences as an entrepreneur, many of the examples I provide can apply to anyone about to start or build or expand a venture.” That could be a good thing for small-business owners.
