Nifty ideas you can use to build a better business

Global Measurements

Before you list product dimensions in your advertisements or on your Web site, be sure you’re speaking in measurements that your customers will understand. An audience in the U.S. will easily relate to dimensions shown in feet and inches. But global customers may be more accustomed to reading metric measurements. Offer both. List non-metric dimensions, followed by metric measurements placed in parenthesis.

Get Paid Faster

A few changes to the way you invoice clients could put payments in your pocket faster. Follow these tips:

  • Be sure your invoice is accurate

  • Always provide a specific due date, such as Sept. 29, 2005

  • When appropriate, send invoices via e-mail, either as PDF or word processing file

  • Invoice immediately after delivery of your products or services
