Stop Copycats
Don’t let online plagiarizers steal your Web content. At www.copyscape.com, you can search for copycats that might have created Web pages remarkably similar to the pages on your Web site. Just enter your Web site address and click “Search” to find possible plagiarists. The search is free. But you can also ante up $9.95 a month, and Copyscape’s Copysentry service will automatically monitor the Web for copies of your pages.
Women Proprietors
A 2005 report from the U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Advocacy confirms the boom in entrepreneurship among women. The report, “U.S. Sole Proprietorships: A Gender Comparison, 1985-2000,” showed that self-employment among women grew at a faster rate than among men. The National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE) watched that trend emerge and launched the online Women’s Resource Center at http://women.NASE.org several years ago. The site is filled with information and resources that respond to the unique business concerns, interests and issues of women business owners.
