Nifty ideas you can use to build a better business

Photo ID

Displaying your photo on your business card will help prospects remember you. But heed this caution: Make sure your mug shot isn’t out of date. Photos that show you 20 pounds slimmer or with a hairdo from 1986 raise questions in a prospect’s mind. Is your business also out of date? Are you misrepresenting yourself? Are you just too lazy or too cheap to get a fresh photo? To present yourself and your business in the best light, put an updated photo on your business card every couple of years.

Better Service. More Sales.

Retailers with stellar customer service will find more buyers lining up at cash registers. A 2005 survey conducted by the National Retail Federation Foundation and the American Express Company showed that 85 percent of consumers said they would spend and shop more at retailers that provide good service. Another 82 percent said they were likely to recommend these retailers to friends and family. “Through excellent service, retailers have an opportunity to retain and build on their customer base,” said John Theiss, vice president, Retail Industries, American Express Establishment Services.
