Nifty ideas you can use to build a better business

Making Contact

Your small-business press release might be the best ever written. But if media folks can’t find your contact information in a hurry, you could lose their attention. On every press release, put your name and telephone number at the beginning, right under the words, “For Immediate Release.” At the end of your press release, put the words, “Contact Information.” Beneath that, give your name, telephone numbers, e-mail address and mailing address.

Get Well

Flu season. Yuk. If you don’t want sick employees coming to the office and spreading their flu germs around, then set the right example. Stay home when you’re the victim of a nasty cold or raging flu. Work by phone and computer if you must. Encourage employees to do the same. If you feel pressure to show up on the job when you should be in bed, your employees will feel the pressure, too.
