Is Your Small Business A Success? For High-Achieving Entrepreneurs, Inner Values Drive Business By Phillip M. Perry Is your small business successful? Many of us look at the bottom line for an answer. If we’re making a profit, the answer is yes. If we’re in the red, the answer is no. At one level, that approach is valid. Profit, after all, is an essential element in business. Without a solid financial return, we wouldn’t stay in business very long. A healthy balance sheet, though, is an insufficient motivator for real success over the long term. Just think of all the high-income people who always seem to walk around miserable. We can’t consider them successful because there’s obviously something lacking in their lives. Think, too, of those people who suddenly quit profitable businesses to pursue “something else.” What is that “something else” that is so attractive? And how can you blend whatever it is into your business so you can respond with an enthusiastic “Yes!” when someone asks if you “Are you successful?” We’ve those answers and more in this Success Skills Seminar. Read on to find yardsticks that will help you measure your own success.
