Media Matters

Media coverage is free and gives your small business credibility. So, when you get interviewed by a journalist for an article in a newspaper or magazine, jump for joy. But don’t ask to review the article before it’s published. Writers and editors work on tight deadlines, with no time for allowing interviewed sources to review articles. And asking to review the article will reveal that you’re an amateur in dealing with the media. Not a good move. You want to present yourself as a savvy business owner who has expert knowledge and opinions to offer – now and for future articles.

Return fraud has become so rampant in the industry that more than two-thirds of retailers surveyed (69.1 percent) said their companies’ return policies have been changed to specifically address the issue.
