Get Yourself Certified

Are you a management consultant looking to land a fat contract with a blue chip company? It might help your chances if you can show you’re certified. That’s where the Institute of Management Consultants USA comes in. When you see the initials CMC after a consultant’s name, it means that he or she is a Certified Management Consultant. The certification mark is awarded by the Institute and represents evidence of the highest standards of consulting and adherence to the ethical cannons of the profession. The Institute reports that less than 1 percent of all consultants have achieved this level of performance. Find out more about certification at the Web site.

Spread The Word

Andy Sernovitz, chief executive officer of the Word of Mouth Marketing Association has authored a new book: “Word of Mouth Marketing: How Smart Companies Get People Talking” (Kaplan Publishing, 2006). The book will show you how to participate in an active dialogue with consumers and drive positive word of mouth. Sernovitz also offers tips for avoiding potential minefields when using this popular technique. You’ll get answers to common questions, such as:

  • How do I start?

  • How do I measure results?

  • How will I know it’s working?

  • What are the dos and don’ts?

  • What’s ethical and what crosses the line?
