Mind Your Manners In The Air

You never know when a potential client might be sitting in the airline seat next to yours. So behave. A recent poll by Cheapflights.com found that incessant talkers are the most offensive airline etiquette violators. When asked about other offensive behavior, respondents to the Airplane Etiquette Poll rated these as the top violations:

  • Rapid Recliner: Wheels up, in your lap (20 percent)

  • Arm Rest Hog: Elbow wrestling, you lose (12 percent)

  • Carry-on Champ: Bashes bags left and right (12 percent)

  • Seat Back Grabber: Grabs your seat to get up (11 percent)

  • Who Me? Yes, you; turn off your cell phone (10 percent)

The gap widened further when it came to desk drawers, where women’s desks held seven times more germs than men’s.
