Nifty ideas you can use to build a better business
Easy Faxing
When designing your marketing materials, you
might be tempted to choose a colorful paper
stock and ink. Although that can make your
materials more eye-catching, it can also lead
to problems if you need to fax a brochure.
Deep colors often make faxes unreadable. So
instead, opt for a lighted colored paper.
Avoid areas of dark screens that will make
copy impossible to read on a fax. And be sure
your materials have wide margins appropriate
for faxing.
Smile When You Say That
Susan Berkley, author of
Speak To Influence: How To Unlock The Hidden
Power Of Your Voice (Campbell Hall Press,
1999) says that business owners and sales
people can increase sales just by learning to
use their voices more effectively. "You can
consciously manipulate your tone of voice in a
way that makes people feel good about you and
the products and services you represent,"
Berkley says. "As a result you will sound more
credible, articulate, and persuasive. You'll
improve rapport with clients and prospects."
You've probably
heard Berkley's voice before. She's one of the
voices that say,. "Thank you for using AT&T."
Here's one tip that offers: "The shape of your
mouth and the expression on your face will
shape the sound of your voice. One of the
easiest ways to sound warm and friendly is to
smile. If you do nothing else but smile while
speaking, your voice will sound 90 percent
warmer." To learn more, visit Berkley's Web
