What’s A TLD?

In Internet-speak, TLD stands for top level domain. It refers to the suffix on a Web site address, such as .com, .net, .biz and .org. Why should you care? Because when you’re ready to buy a domain name, it can pay to buy multiple TLDs. If your Web site at .com becomes a huge hit, an interloper could buy the domain name at .net (or .biz) and profit from your popular name (not to mention your hard work). So flip a few extra bucks to buy multiple TLDs.
