Nifty ideas you can use to build a better business

The Envelope Please

One of the big hurdles in successful direct mail is to get recipients to open your envelope. And to accomplish that, you’ve got to grab attention. Try these ideas:

  • Use a colored envelope instead of white
  • Print teasers on the front and back of the envelope
  • Emphasize the benefit for the recipient, such as Limited Time Offer, Save 20% Today or Free Information Inside

Home Office Mailbox

If your home is also your office, you might want to consider a private mailbox. They’re available from independent local providers as well national chains such as PakMail, The UPS Store and Mail Boxes Etc. What do these mailboxes give you that your home box can’t? Here are three important things.

  1. Time. No waiting around for the delivery guy. All shipping companies and the U.S. Postal Service deliver to private mailbox providers.
  2. Security. If you’re away on business, your mail and packages don’t overflow your mailbox at home. Instead, they’re kept safe through your mailbox provider.
  3. Privacy. You can list your business mailbox as your mailing address instead of making your home address public.
