Conference To-Dos
The next time you attend a business or industry conference, make the most of the occasion by following these three tips:
- Be active. Ask questions and make comments during conference sessions. Introduce yourself to people.
- Be memorable. Develop a 30-second introduction for yourself. Use it to answer people who ask, “So, what do you do?”
- Be adventurous. Attend conference sessions that will expose you to new ideas, new experiences and new people.
Foreign Exchange
Check your credit card fees before you take off on an international business trip. Many credit card issuers charge a foreign exchange fee if you use the card in a country other than the U.S. The fees usually range from 2 percent to 3 percent of the amount of you charge on the card. Call your card issuer to find out about the fee.
