GET CONNECTED TIPS
Nifty ideas you can use to build a better business

Jazz Up Your Site

Need to put some pizzazz in your Web site? Try these ideas:

  • Run a weekly survey that appeals to your audience. Each week post the results of the previous survey and add a new survey that entices visitors to respond.

  • Post a “Tip of the Week” that’s relevant to your visitors. To create interaction, ask visitors for their best tips then post the tip along with the visitor’s name. Just be sure to get the tipster’s permission first.

  • Add an industry specific news page to your Web site. Run news about industry trends, upcoming trade shows and conferences or post links to industry specific Web sites.

Write It Right

Writing a business proposal is often required if you want to land a big client. But before you hand over that brilliant piece of work, make sure your proposal isn’t stuffed with industry jargon. Words and expressions that are common to you can leave clients confused. For instance, the word “turnkey” shows up in many business proposals, but it can take on different meanings in different industries. If you must use industry-specific language, explain it. Remember, the objective is to land the project, which requires clear, concise communication on your part.
