Nifty ideas you can use to build a better business

Don't Live By Price Alone

Small Businesses can't afford to compete by offering the lowest prices. You've got to motivate buyers with other enticements. Here are some ideas:

  • Convenience. Stay open later or offer services on weekends when other businesses don’t.

  • Expertise. Provide more product information and comparisons than competitors.

  • Service. Get to know your customers and give more personal service.

  • Trust. Steer customers toward products and services that will meet their needs

  • Uniqueness. Offer services and products that are hard to find and unique to your business.

IM--All The Rage

Instant messaging (IM) isn’t just for teenagers anymore. The practice is gaining ground in the business world, and 2003 could be the break-out year. IM lets off-site personnel communicate instantly with onsite workers. It puts clients. independent contractors and business colleagues in touch immediately. It takes the next step up from e-mail, which has become the standard for business communications. And problems surrounding instant messaging—such as security and ability to save messages—are being tackled by IM vendors. If your business could benefit from instant messaging, get ahead of the curve. Evaluate IM now, before you’re left in the technological dust.
