Supplier Discounts

Many suppliers offer a discount when you pay your bill early. It speeds their receivables, and gives you a nice savings. If your suppliers make such an offer, take the deal. If they don’t, ask them to consider the incentive. Many will gladly offer a 2-percent discount to get their money sooner.

Before The Show

Maybe this is the year you finally exhibit your business at a trade show. If so, do your homework. Go to trade shows first as an attendee, not an exhibitor. Visit the booths of your competitors. Make a list of what is and isn’t working for them, from booth layout to promotions. Check the locations for walk-in traffic. Look at the size of their booths, the number of people staffing the booths, even the color schemes. Learn from your competitors’ mistakes. And repeat their successes. Your first trade show exhibition will be more powerful and effective.
