Nifty ideas you can use to build a better business

Fighting A Slump

Advertising is one way to fight back against a business slump. To get sales jumping again, try temporarily increasing your ads in venues that get immediate attention from potential customers. Daily newspapers and radio spots could fit that bill. Or try mailing postcards to prospects. Sales letters mailed first class might work too. Rather than a single letter, try a series of three to five, mailed within a week of one another. Electronically, opt for ads in e-newsletters and e-zines that are distributed weekly. And don’t forget to use your own Web site to attract customers. Change your offers often to grab a visitor’s attention.

Packing For Inspection

Traveling for business or pleasure this holiday season? Speed up your trek through the airport by packing your carry-on bag ready for inspection. Group loose items like toiletries into zip-lock bags. For clothing, use the airtight clear plastic bags available from most luggage stores. You pack clothing in various sized bags, then squeeze out the excess air. Bagging most of the articles in your carry-on makes repacking a snap if you get chosen for an inspection.
