Nifty ideas you can use to build a better business

Don’t Be A Pest

Sure you want to sell more services or products to existing clients. And you want to build working relationships. But don’t monopolize your client’s time. Be considerate. Use these tips to keep from becoming a pest:

  • Never show up at a client’s office unannounced; it’s intrusive

  • If you leave a voice-mail message, be specific about what you need to discuss

  • Give clients plenty of time to review proposals, bids and quotes before making a follow-up call

  • When sending e-mails, be specific in the subject line

  • Before requesting a meeting with a client, have an agenda prepared

Save A Seat

Got a sore back? Tense shoulders? Achy legs? Could be your office chair is to blame. Here are four features that ergonomic gurus say your chair should have:

  1. Adjustable height so your feet rest flat on the floor.

  2. Adjustable seat pan. The front edge of the seat shouldn’t cut into the backs of your calves.

  3. Adjustable armrests so you can relax during quick breaks.

  4. Adjustable back to provide lumbar support.
