GET CONNECTED TIPS
Nifty ideas you can use to build a better business

Promote Yourself

Here are two inexpensive promotion ideas every small business can use:

  1. Print your business name, address, Web site URL, telephone number and slogan or tag line on every piece of paper you generate. Business cards, letterhead, envelopes, invoices, billing statements and job quotes are all ideal promotion vehicles.

  2. For electronic documents, create a signature line that includes all of your business information. Use the signature line on every electronic document you send.

Media Tips

Newspapers, magazines and e-zines love to publish short how-to articles, quizzes and tip sheets. Develop one for your small business and you can generate free publicity. A jeweler could produce “7 Tips for Buying Jewelry.” A lawn maintenance company could create “9 Ways To Green Up Your Lawn.” Write short, snappy tips. Add a couple of quotes from yourself. Be sure to include in the article the name of your business as well as your city and state. Then send the article to publications that have readers in your target market.
