Small-biz Stats

The U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Advocacy has redesigned its Web site to make finding information easier. Use the clickable map to get state economic profiles. The menu for Research and Statistics gives you quick access to data on small businesses, owner demographics, banking and finance, and frequently asked questions. You’ll also find regulatory policy, including alerts and small-business statutes. To stay informed, sign up for the Advocacy Newsletter. Go to www.sba.gov/advo for a look around.

Blogging for Business

When customers talk, businesses better be listening. That’s the message in a recently released book “When Customers Talk” by T. Scott Gross and BIGresearch. The book is taken from the responses of more than 100,000 shoppers who participated in BIGresearch surveys. But this book comes with a twist: a companion blog at http://whencustomerstalk.blogspot.com. The blog provides updated consumer insights. It also allows marketers and small-business owners to share their ideas and experiences.
