Know-how you need to succeed

Retail Mail

Your small retail shop could probably boost sales with an old-fashioned, targeted direct mail campaign. That’s the finding from the Customer Focus 2005: Retail Direct Marketing study conducted by Vertis, a provider of marketing services. The study showed that 25 percent of those with household incomes of $30,000 to $50,000 who read direct mail said they visited a store where they typically do not shop. The lesson? Make direct mail a part of your next marketing campaign.

Small-Biz Research

Whether you’re creating a business plan or preparing paperwork for a loan, chances are you need statistics about the state of small business. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) can help you find the data you need. The SBA Office of Advocacy has released the Research Publications 2004 Catalog, which provides brief summaries of all the economic research reports produced by Advocacy last year.
