Nifty ideas you can use to build a better business

Tipping Tip

The next time you treat a client to a business lunch, be sure you don’t look like a tightwad. Always leave an adequate tip for the wait staff. Some guidelines:

  • 30 percent if you receive excellent service

  • 20 percent for good service

  • 10 percent for average service

Even if you receive lousy service, don’t cause a scene by stiffing the wait staff. Simply pay the 10 percent tip – and vow never to return to the restaurant.

Room Service

Hilton Hotels, Suites & Resorts has sweetened its offerings for business travelers. The family of hotels now offers high-speed Internet access, either wired or wireless, depending on location. Select locations also offer PrinterOn™ service, which allows guests to send print jobs from laptops in their guestrooms directly to the hotel’s 24-hour, complimentary business center for pick-up at their convenience. Plus, Hilton has introduced a complimentary, in-room fitness-in-a-bag program. Called Hilton Fit Kit by Bally Total Fitness®, it enables guests to continue their fitness regimens in the privacy of their guest rooms.
