Business Resources
Article 3: Free Management Training

Getting the latest management training can be expensive. It’s just too much for the budgets of many small businesses.

So how would you like up-to-date training, counseling and technical assistance about all aspects of small-business management—for free?

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is the Small Business Administration’s premier technical assistance program. It’s helped more than 8 million entrepreneurs since it was founded in 1980 as a partnership between the private business sector, educational institutions and all levels of government.

SBDCs, www.sba.gov/sbdc, offer a vast array of workshops, seminars, conferences and courses at nearly 1,000 locations across the United States. Is marketing a mystery to you? Can’t work through a tough engineering problem? An SBDC can help.

But you don’t have to wait until you’re actually in business and stuck under a mound of problems. SBDC help is available even if you’re only thinking about launching into business for yourself.
