Niche Marketing
Article 1: What Is Niche Marketing?

As small-business owner, you’re probably niche marketing already. With limited resources, limited time and limited ability to deliver a wide variety of products or services to a huge market, you probably focus your energies on a particular group of customers in a particular area. In essence you’re targeting a niche market.

Don’t be intimidated by the idea of niche marketing. Niche marketing requires common sense and research, not magic. As the noted futurologist Faith Popcorn once said, “You can trust a crystal ball about as far as you can throw it.” Sometimes all it takes is a change of perspective to uncover a valuable new niche for your product or service.

The bottom line is to be aware of the niche markets you serve, the niche that your product or service fits in those markets, and the future trends that will impact your niche markets. Gather as much accurate information as you can about your niche market and think creatively about how you can take advantage of market trends to increase your business.
